Welcome to the World of Loewenbehold!
Multidisciplinary Artist & Joy-Fueled Polymath
I'm GREGORY LOEWEN, a creator with over 35 years of experience across film, television, fine art, photography, writing, and immersive experience design. As an Emmy and Leo Award-winning production designer, co-author of the Evolutionary Sex book series, and founder of The Church of Unreasonable Happiness, my work is rooted in storytelling, human connection, and the pursuit of meaningful, joyful experiences.I’m passionate about exploring how art, design, and creativity can shape the way we live, love, and build community. From large-scale productions to intimate fine art pieces and global conversations about intimacy and spirituality, I thrive at the intersection of visual craft, emotional depth, and bold ideas.Always curious, always creating—and always believing in the power of beauty, honesty, and a little bit of joyful rebellion.
Production Design for Film, Commercials and Presentations
With over 35 years of experience in film and television, I specialize in creating visual environments that enhance and support the story. I have had the privilege of shaping the look and feel of award-winning productions, ranging from wonderfully creative commercials to large-scale network series. My credits span various genres and platforms, earning me accolades such as a prime-time Emmy and a Leo Award. However, the true joy for me lies in collaborating with talented teams and creative agencies to bring ideas to life. Whether working on a feature film, a series, or a branded campaign, I approach every project with thoughtfulness and a hands-on mentality—balancing creativity, efficiency, and a deep understanding of visual storytelling. And I’m pretty chill to work with.
PRODUCTION DESIGN
Photography and Visual Arts
I like to get behind the camera and in front of an easel
I’m a multidisciplinary artist who creates from the heart—blending painting, photography, and installation art to capture the beauty, wonder, and weirdness of being alive. Whether it’s a quiet moment framed in someone’s living room or an immersive piece at Burning Man, my work is all about connection.
I have a deep love for travel photography and documenting life as it unfolds—messy, magical, and real. From remote villages to busy city streets, I chase light, stories, and glimpses of truth. Art, for me, is a way to stay curious, to share joy, and to remind us all of the sacred in the everyday.
PHOTOGRAPHY AND VISUAL ARTS
SPIRITUAL EXPLORATION
Alongside my art, I started The Church of Unreasonable Happiness—a tongue-in-cheek, soul-on-fire kind of movement that invites people to take joy seriously. It’s not a religion (no robes, no dogma, no tithing), but it is real. We’re building a growing online and in-person community for people who believe happiness, connection, and curiosity are sacred. In a world that often feels too heavy, choosing joy is a radical act—and I think it’s an idea worth spreading.Find it at: www.churchofunreasonablehappiness.com
The EvolutionarySex ENM Series
I am the co-author and creator of Evolutionary Sex—a bold, heart-led project that explores intimacy, sexuality, and relationships through a lens of growth, honesty, and joy. Alongside my partner Kandace, we’ve spent over 40 years together (and 25+ in ethical non-monogamy), gathering hard-earned wisdom and real-life stories to help others deepen their connections and rediscover pleasure as a spiritual practice. Evolutionary Sex isn’t just a series of books—it’s a conversation about what it means to love, to evolve, and to break the rules kindly.Through the EvolutionarySex ENM Series, we also work with couples and singles to help them navigate the ethical non-monogamy lifestyle with coaching and mentoring. We offer guidance on building honest communication, handling emotions like jealousy, and creating relationships that feel authentic and joyful. Because exploring ENM can feel like charting unknown territory, our mission is to be the compass that helps people find clarity, confidence, and deeper connection along the way.www.evolutionarysex.org
